Day 1

Arrival in Puerto Natales

Upon your arrival in Puerto Natales, you will have some time to relax and explore the town, including its charming main square. Before you leave, make sure to kiss the toe of the Indian statue, as it is said to bring good luck for a safe return to Puerto Natales.

In the evening, we will gather together as a group for the first time. You will receive your Welcome Package, which includes all the necessary documents and information, a small surprise, and the key to your personal travel companion, your Royal Enfield Classic 500. We will then indulge in some local specialties and have the opportunity to get to know each other.

Day 3

Puerto Natales to Rio Grande

Today is the longest riding day of the entire tour, as there are limited accommodation options between Puerto Natales and Rio Grande. However, the ride and roads are easy, as long as the wind does not interfere with our plans too much. Patagonia is known for its strong winds, and we might experience them. On the way, we will have the chance to explore an abandoned Hacienda, see one of the countless shipwrecks that made the region famous, and stop for some typical lunches. In the evening, we will stay at a Moto posada in Rio Grande, where we will gather for a nice BBQ or pizzas and some ice-cold drinks.

Distance: 424 km

Riding Time: 6 hours (depending on the boarder crossing)

Food: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

Accommodation: Dormitory

Day 5

Day in Ushuaia, No Riding day (Optional Cruise to Pinguinera)

Today, we will take a break from our bikes and explore the beautiful city of Ushuaia on foot. We will visit the Ushuaia Prison, which was the primary reason for the establishment of this town. At the museum, we will gain insight into the harsh lives led by the initial inmates and learn about the fascinating tale of the prisoner's train, which we will ride the following day to the actual end of the world.

Afterward, we will explore the city center and port area and come together in the evening for a delicious dinner featuring local King Crab.

Day 2

Day trip to Fuerte Bulnes

On the first day of your bike ride, you will have ample time to get familiar with the bikes without the burden of carrying any heavy luggage. We will ride down to the historic Chilean Fort Bulnes, situated on the shores of the Strait of Magellan, 52 kilometers south of Punta Arenas and a few kilometers from Cape Froward. The fort was founded on September 21, 1843, on the rocky hill of Punta Santa Ana, under the directive of President Manuel Bulnes Prieto. Although it was destroyed after a few years, it was rebuilt and reopened as a site museum for its centenary in 1943.

Once we arrive, you can take your time to explore the museum and the nearby town. We will be available throughout the day to answer any technical questions about the bike and help you make the most of your ride.

In the evening, we will return to Puerto Natales, where you will have the rest of the evening to relax and recharge for the long ride ahead.

Day 4

Rio Grande to Ushuaia

On the day we arrive in Ushuaia, we get to enjoy one of the most scenic rides of the tour. However, we need to hope for good weather to be able to see the beautiful mountain ranges and waters of the Terra del Fuego region. As we are getting closer to the Antarctic, the weather can be unpredictable, even in Summer. Nevertheless, the area has a charming nature that never disappoints, and it's thrilling to know we have reached the southernmost cape of the South American Continent. During our ride, we'll make a stop at the famous 3005 Motorbike Cafe and Museum, where we can learn about the adventures of many Alaska to Ushuaia riders. Afterward, we'll have the opportunity to try one of the most famous Patagonian dishes, Lamb, before riding victoriously into Ushuaia. In the evening, you can explore the town on your own or just rest.

Day 6

End of Route 3 & Southern Most Train and Postoffice

Today, we'll be leaving our classic bikes behind to board another classic machine for a few hours. The Southern Fuegian Railway is going to take us on a heritage ride with steam-powered locomotives to the end of the world. We'll be retracing the footsteps of the first inmates of the Ushuaia Prison and riding on the 50cm tracks, taking a journey into the past while exploring the National Park and learning more about the history of the train, as well as the flora and fauna in the region. Once we return to the End of the World Station, we'll pick up our bikes and ride through the scenic park, stopping to send postcards from the southernmost post office in the world.

Day 7

Day trip on Route J

Routa J is a hidden gem worth exploring. Departing from Ushuaia, it takes us through scenic landscapes and along the coastline of the Beagle Channel until we reach Estancia Harberton. Today's 150 km ride is mostly off-road but with favorable riding conditions. We will take a break halfway through the journey to relish some delicious seafood empanadas. Upon reaching the end of the unpaved road, we will arrive at the southernmost point of our trip, Estancia Harberton.

Riding Time: 6 hours

Food: Breakfast - Lunch

Day 9

Off to Povenir

Depending on our previous night's accommodation, we may have a long or short riding day to reach the small town of Porvenir. It is situated in the southernmost region of Chile and is home to around 4,734 people, including several thousand soldiers. Porvenir is the largest settlement on the Chilean side of Tierra del Fuego, but it is still quite small, with only a handful of restaurants and bars.

The town was established in 1883 by immigrants from Croatia and Chiloé as a result of the gold mining that preceded the larger Tierra del Fuego gold rush, which began in 1884. You can still see the Croatian heritage in many parts of the town. Make sure to try a seafood dinner in one of the cozy places, as it is a must-try experience. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the bay from here.

During our trip, we will make a stop at Chiles only Pinguinera for Emperors Penguins. You will have the opportunity to spend an hour learning more about these fascinating animals while observing them in their natural habitat.

During the cruise, we will explore the countless fjords and hike to beautiful waterfalls and sceneries. We will then gather on board for an amazing whiskey aperitif with ancient glacier ice. On the rocks has never been so special. Finally, our last stop will be on a small island where we will be served original Patagonian lamb and Chilean Red Wine. By the end of the tour, you will understand what Bruce Chatwin meant in his book about Patagonia when he says: "Patagonia is a place that trespasses on the imagination; it eludes conception, refuses to be mastered, and remains a beguiling realm of mystery".

On our way back, we will once again travel on Route 3, the only road leading to Ushuaia. However, we plan to make a stop at a fascinating shipwreck that we missed on our way south, provided the tide allows us to. Today's ride will be a mix of on-road and off-road, and even though we'll be retracing our steps on the same road, we'll get to witness stunning new views and experiences. If weather permits, we will spend the night near the sea at a small camping site, start a fire, and grill some fresh fish that we'll purchase from a local fisherman. Alternatively we will return to Rio Grande and sleep the night in a Moto Posada.

Once we arrive in Punta Arenas, we will head north on Route 9 towards Puerto Natales. This journey will take us through the typical landscapes of Patagonia, where you can see many haciendas and their vast lands along the hills. The road conditions are excellent, and we can just relax while making our way north.

Departure

All good things must come to an end, and it's time for us to say goodbye. However, for those who can't get enough, we do offer an extension trip to El Calafate and El Chalten as a separate package. If you're interested, please contact us for more information or click here.

If you decide to leave from here, you have the option to return to Punta Arenas or comfortably fly out from Puerto Natales. In both cases, we are happy to arrange the transfer for you. As bikers, we don't say goodbye; we just say "see you soon." We hope to welcome you again soon on one of our tours.

Take a Closer Look

Young Company with the expected hick-ups but big time compensated by fun and sense for the right level of adventure and a deep local knowledge. We saw amazing things and having a BBQ in a real Chilean home was just a perfect closing. We would book again!
